PRW.NET TurboWeb Setup

This document will assist you with the installation of the PRW TurboWeb Accelerator. This is a simple installation and you should be able to complete in 5 to 10 minutes.

1. Download

The size of the PRW TurboWeb installer is less than 1 MB so you should be able to download it in approximately 3 minutes using a 56K modem connection. You can save the installer to your Desktop to perform the installation.

Note: Customers with Parental Controls should not enable the PRW TurboWeb Accelerator. That combination is currently not supported. We expect to have the acceleration feature available to Parental Controls customers later this year.

To download the installer for Windows 95B/98/NT/ME/2000/XP click here. Minimum system requirements are a Pentium 200 MHz, 64 MB RAM, and 5 MB of hard-drive space. Supported web browsers are Internet Explorer 4.0 (or later) and Netscape Communicator 6.0 (or later).

To download the installer for Mac OS X 10.2 click here. Minimum system requirements are a PowerPC G3 processor 333 MHz, 128 MB RAM and 6 MB of hard drive space. The supported web browser is Safari 1.0 (or later).

2. Install

After downloading the PRW TurboWeb Accelerator installer onto your Desktop, double-click on the icon to launch the installer. The installer will guide you through the complete setup process. You should restart your computer after the installation is completed.

3. Connect

The first time you run the accelerator you will be prompted for a username and password. Enter your PRW.NET username and password in the fields provided and click OK. The PRW TurboWeb Accelerator will connect to the acceleration server. Opening any web browser launches the PRW TurboWeb Accelerator.

After the accelerator is launched, an icon as shown below is placed in your system tray. You can customize the accelerator settings and select other options by right clicking on the accelerator icon.

4. Enjoy

Browse the web as you normally would. When finished, simply close your web browser, as you normally would, and PRW TurboWeb Accelerator will remain idle in your system tray. If you want to stop the application after browsing select "Stop PRW TurboWeb" from the pop-up menu, or if you desire to exit the application completely, click Exit from the pop-up menu.
